Say Yes to New Adventures

"To Improve is to Change; to be perfect is to Change Often" — Winston Churchill

It's essential to keep your Kanban board updated regularly to reflect the current status of your work.

Here’s a guideline on how often you should update your Kanban board:

Continuous Updates: Ideally, the Kanban board should be updated in real-time or as soon as a significant change occurs. For example:

  • When a ticket is started, moved to a different stage, or completed.
  • When new tickets are identified during the day.
  • When priorities change or new information comes in.

Daily Updates: The Kanban board should be updated every day during the daily standup (or daily Scrum meeting). This ensures everyone on the team is aware of the current status of tasks and any potential blockers. Team members can:

  • Move tickets to reflect progress (e.g., from "In Progress" to "Done").
  • Add new tasks or subtasks if necessary.
  • Update task details with new information or changes.

Sprint Planning and Reviews: During sprint planning and sprint review meetings (typically held every 1-2 weeks in Scrum), the Kanban board should be reviewed and updated:

  • Sprint Planning: Adjust the board to reflect the new sprint backlog. Prioritize and reorder tasks as needed.
  • Sprint Review: Move completed tasks to the "Done" column and discuss any tasks that were not completed.
